We are an IB School

TERRANOVA meets the curriculum and educational standards established by the Ministry of Education of Ecuador.

Additionally, since its foundation, TERRANOVA has enriched its curriculum with the implementation of the three International Baccalaureate programs, which constitute an innovative proposal to form supportive, informed and endowed young people, with skills and abilities necessary to face the complex challenges of today's society.

The IB system comprises students from three to eighteen years of age and is developed in more than 4,000 schools around the world. Certification to access these programs is a demanding process that is renewed every five years, and requires meeting high standards of educational quality.

International Baccalaureate

The Primary Years Program (PYP) is intended for students to learn and use knowledge, concepts and skills from a variety of subjects to explore six trans-disciplinary topics that help understand the world and develop the attributes of the IB learner profile.

The Middle Years Program (PAI) provides a framework for academic development that motivates students to perceive and understand the connections between traditional disciplines and the real world, thus becoming critical and reflective thinkers.

The program is composed of eight subject groups, integrated through six global contexts that provide a framework for disciplinary and interdisciplinary learning.

The Diploma Program (PD) for 2nd and 3rd year of Baccalaureate (juniors and seniors).

It is a program that is taught during the last two years of high school and culminates with international exams, whose approval allows the students to receive the title of the International Baccalaureate. This title is authorized by the Ministry of Education of Ecuador under ministerial agreement No. 287.

Students who graduate with the IB Diploma can study at a university anywhere in the world, often with credit recognition. The program allows them to acquire the necessary tools to obtain good results in university.
